Perhaps the
world's best known heavy bomber of the Second World War, The charismatic
Lancaster embodies all the might, stamina and daring of the big bombing raids of
the European theatre. Mass formations of this remarkable machine were seen
nightly leaving their airfields in England for targets deep inside enemy
territory.
The level of detail in this package has only previously
been seen in flight simulation expansions of complex modern airliners. A huge
amount of historical research has been undertaken and virtual pilots can now
leave their beautifully modeled cockpits and choose to sit in other parts of the
aircraft. The alternative positions are from the viewpoint of the bomb aimer,
air gunner, navigator and wireless operator. Special Ops covers the famous
Dambuster Lancs with their spinning bombs from Operation Chastise, the daring
raids by Guy Gibson and his crews, on the Eder, Mohne and Sorpe dams of the
Rhur. You can fly the Specials equipped to drop the mighty Tallboy and
Grandslam earthquake bombs, the lesser known radial-engined MkII and the
French machines of the AeroNavale. No other simulator release is as
