The NEXTMap ProMesh terrain series is based on high-resolution NEXTMap 3D elevation data for the United States and Europe produced by Intermap Technologies.

This terrain is sixteen times the resolution and 256 times more detailed than the default FSX terrain mesh for Europe. No longer are canyons 76m wide. Now you can experience the excitement of flying through canyons and valleys as close as 4.75m between walls. It makes for great low-level helicopter flying and for exploring unique geological formations that only 4.75m terrain can provide.

Unlike other mesh products, the NEXTMap ProMesh series is based on highly accurate and reliable elevation data, as opposed to the NASA 90m SRTM data, most of which has holes and voids.

FS Dreamscapes were the first designers to implement fractional elevation data settings, modeling all elevation changes to 1/25^th of a meter vertically.

The end result is terrain accurately reflecting subtle differences in elevation changes that allow pilots to fly in a virtual real-world enrironment, as close to reality as possible.

• 5m NEXTMap based horizontal elevation spacing
• 256 times more detailed than the default terrain mesh in Flight Simulator X
• 16 times higher resolution than the default terrain mesh in Flight Simulator X
• 32-bit source data that translates into much higher vertical resolution in the dataset. 32-bit data compilation also reduces the striping and banding issues seen in other 16-bit terrain mesh renderings
• Fractional elevation sampling provides samplings to fractions of a meter vertically (e.g., 10.25m, 10.75m) compared to freeware mesh with only whole number samplings (e.g., 10m, 11m), which means smoother terrain on the ground and even smoother landings
