| Base Aerienne Dijon/Longvic is located approximately 2 miles (3.2 km)
east-southeast of Longvic and about 145 miles (233 km) southeast of Paris in the
Bourgogne region of France. Dijon/Longvic is one of the oldest bases of the Armee de l'Air, being
established in 1914, having origins beginning in September 1910 as a civil
aerodrome. It has been active for over 95 years through both 20th Century World
Wars, the Cold War, and numerous crisis. It was severely damaged by the Allies during World War 2. Much of the
infrastructure and runways were destroyed. After the war, following extensive
rebuilding by the US military it re-opened as a major Armee de l'Air base. Today
it is a frontline base within NATO. The scenery package includes hi-detail (but high-FPS with various animations)
AI Mirage 2000 (three squadrons from the period of the early 1990s) and C-160F
Transall's. The aircraft are parked around the base with scheduled
departures/arrivals and perform Touch and Go's. Both military and civilian
traffic are supported. The centerpiece is the monument to World War 1 ace Capitaine Georges Guynemer;
Légion d'Honneur, Croix de Guerre, Medaille Militaire, and French national hero,
which is illuminated at night. A User Flight (.FLT) is included. Watch and hear the base activity from the
pan. (FS9 only) Runways (18-36, 7870 ft and 2-20, 5884 ft), taxiways, night-lighting,
buildings, including aircraft hangars, accommodations, and floodlights are
included. Navaids include ILS (109.5, Heading 356), DME (113.50), and VOR (111.45). Important Notes:
