Hoxton Park airport was established in 1942 as a dispersal field for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The airport covers an area 87 hectares in total and is located 21 nautical miles west of Sydney. It is an uncontrolled airport with a common traffic advisory frequency (CTAF) arrangement for advisory communication between aircraft within a 2NM radius. Approximately 100,000 to 120,000 aircraft movements are made per year, 90 percent of which are training flights. The airport elevation is 135 feet AMSL with a single paved runway 1098x30 meters (3602x98 feet) in dimension. Runway 34 heading is 334 degrees magnetic and RWY 16 is also available, although 34 is the preferred runway in calm conditions. The airport can accommodate aircraft under 5700kg only.

Hoxton Park Upgrade will significantly enhance the airport with Hangars, FBO's and other objects to create a realistic depiction of what can be seen there today. The surrounding areas have also been updated with new roads and land class, including the M2 and M5 motorways and the new M7 also. The M7 motorway was recently completed in December 2005 and runs immediately west of the airport property. Unfortunately, the three main general aviation airports in Sydney have been sold to a private consortium and Hoxton Park airport will eventually be closed down in 2008. But it will remain as depicted in this scenery for another year or so.
